Former 49ers Defender Says He Felt ‘Disrespected’ By The Team
With Nick Bosa leading one of the greatest defenses in the league and Brock Purdy emerging as a potential star quarterback, the San Francisco 49ers experienced yet another successful season in the NFL.
The 49ers lost to Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada, but as long as they can keep their team together and add important pieces to the championship puzzle, San Francisco has a bright future ahead of them.
Arik Armstead, a defensive lineman, appeared to be one of the key components of the football team’s defensive puzzle, but the team wanted him to take a significant salary cut during the NFL offseason in order to remain in San Francisco going forward.
Consequently, Armstead departed the team and inked a big long-term contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars, but before departing the Bay Area to partner up with Trevor Lawrence and company in Florida through Dov Kleiman, he did feel a little mistreated by the 49ers.
DL Arik Armstead felt “disrespected” by the 49ers from their $6M offer to him this offseason.
The #Jaguars later signed him on a 3-year $51M deal.

Regretfully, the NFL is full of instances such as this, particularly involving teams with large payrolls like the 49ers, who are genuine title challengers.
These clubs need to make adjustments throughout the offseason in order to stay in the running for the championship, and Armstead appears to be one of them.
That might have helped the athlete, though, as he did end up signing a huge contract to play for the Jaguars.
