The Golden State Warriors encountered a challenging loss against the Denver Nuggets on Sunday (Feb. 25). Steph Curry’s struggles from the perimeter, shooting just 1-of-10, underscored the team’s overall performance, failing to align with their considerable effort.
Speaking to the media post-game, Curry expressed anticipation for Chris Paul’s return from injury. He looks forward to seeing how the seasoned playmaker can enhance the team’s dynamics with his leadership and composure off the bench. Curry envisions Paul as another key piece in the Warriors’ push towards the playoffs, believing his presence will elevate their performance.
“We’ve gained momentum in his absence,” Curry remarked. “But he’s such a unifying force, a floor general who positions everyone effectively. So, when I’m on the sidelines or sharing court time with him, it should hopefully take us to another level once he finds his rhythm. Coupled with our recent form, except for tonight, this should enable us to progress further.”
Paul has been sidelined for the past 21 games for Golden State, last playing on Jan. 5 against the Detroit Pistons. During his absence, coach Steve Kerr has experimented with the bench rotation to ensure scoring and playmaking options. However, Paul’s experience and skill set will undoubtedly provide a significant boost in the weeks ahead.
Curry is optimistic about CP3’s return, which could potentially lift the Warriors to greater heights. While the loss to the Nuggets is disappointing, the team must regroup to sustain their momentum. This begins with their upcoming clash against the New York Knicks on Thursday, Feb. 29.
