After a poor start against the Raptors, a furious Kerr shoots the ball during the timeout.
After Immanuel Quickley made a pull-up 3-pointer at the 7:40 point in the first quarter, Kerr called his first timeout. Kerr asked Warriors star Steph Curry for the ball so he could perform a demonstration as soon as he entered the court. In an apparent attempt to demonstrate to his squad how it’s done and give them the message that they need to score more points, the coach then unleashed a vicious midrange jumper.
But the lesson wasn’t fully ingrained, as RJ Barrett nailed a 23-foot three 20 seconds later, prompting Kerr to call another timeout.
This time, Kerr was overutilizing gimmicks and actions to teach; instead, he utilized words to communicate his dissatisfaction with his players.
As he took the court, cameras captured Kerr looking clearly agitated. He yelled and pointed at Warriors rookie forward Jonathan Kuminga before directing his ire at the other players who were approaching him.
