When the Miami Dolphins inked veteran wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. to a one-year deal on Friday, the news made headlines.

He will join an offense that was already perhaps the greatest in the NFL the previous season, and he might provide them with a relatively solid third option in their passing game.

Additionally, Beckham will get to see great cornerback Jalen Ramsey again. The two won the Super Bowl victory together in 2021 while playing for the Los Angeles Rams.

Ramsey used Twitter to remind Beckham of their joint accomplishments.

Beckham was one of the best wide receivers in the game not so long ago, and he was also among the fastest wide outs anyone could recall seeing.

During his first three seasons with the New York Giants, he exceeded 90 catches and 1,300 receiving yards as the No. 12 choice in the 2014 draft.

However, soon afterward, he began to slow down due to injuries.

After suffering two torn ACLs—the second during that team’s victory against the Cincinnati Bengals in the Super Bowl—he was reduced to a supporting role and never again developed into an elite wide receiver.

As a member of the Baltimore Ravens last season, he caught 35 passes for 565 yards and three touchdowns, which helped the team finish with the best record in the NFL.

In 2023, Miami ranked first in passing yards and second in points, but they lacked a reliable third option to go with Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, their two best wide receivers.
