Howes just declared his allegiance to the Razorbacks, and Mateos and Pittman played a significant role in his choice.

“I am really big with creating a relationship with the coach,” stated Howes. “At the end of the day, you are going to be with the o-line coach more than you are with any other coach so if you can’t create a relationship with him, a bond with him, then that is not the right school for you.”
After his junior year, Howes was chosen first-team all-Conference.

During the final two weekends of June, he had planned to visit NC State and Ole Miss, but he canceled those visits in order to focus on Arkansas and Rutgers. Howes visited Arkansas on May 31–June 2 and then spent June 7–9 at Rutgers. Rather than make more journeys after those, Howes chose to pause and consider his options.

HOW ARKANSAS FITS WITH CONNOR HOWES
In June, Arkansas will begin to assemble its offensive line class. Howes, who joins Blake Cherry of Owasso (Okla.) High and Cash Courtney of Carthage (Texas) High, is the third member of the unit to commit this month. With nine commitments, the Razorbacks headed into the third official visitation weekend of June.
