A contract will be reached with the Cowboys, says Dak Prescott, who also announces the birth of baby “MJ.”

QB Dak Prescott of the Cowboys has a great heart for children; he is co-chairman of the Children’s Cancer Fund of Dallas.

Since his mother passed away from cancer while he was a college student, he has been deeply committed to the fight to end cancer worldwide.

Being there at the April 19 Children’s Cancer Fund Gala model reveal news conference on Monday gave “A Knight to Remember” fresh significance when Prescott revealed he was expecting his first child.

Prescott reported that both his infant daughter and mother Sarah Jane Ramos are doing well after “Baby MJ” arrived last Thursday.

“I guess I feel different, especially when you see that baby when you wake up and realize how much work it is,” Prescott remarked. “You want everything for someone else even more than you want what I’ve always wanted for yourself. It’s unique. The infant is doing beautifully. Mom is doing quite well. Everyone is at home and in good health. We are fortunate.

Prescott has even changed a few diapers, but overall the offseason has been quite calm and subdued in comparison to previous years.

He’s had plenty of time to reflect on the devastating playoff loss to the Green Bay Packers that ended the season.

With 36 touchdown throws, Prescott led the NFL and came in second in the NFL MVP voting. However, two interceptions in the 48-32 blowout loss marred his season.

He has started working out again and is looking ahead to the 2024 campaign in an effort to assist the Cowboys perform better. He also intends to stick around for a long time with the Children Cancer Fund.

Prescott is aware that reaching an agreement on a new contract with the Cowboys is essential to achieving both of his objectives.

It would be preferable for the Cowboys to sign him to an extension as he has a $59.4 million cap charge for 2024. This will free up cap space for the organization to sign additional players and field its best lineup.

In the final year of his contract, 2024, Prescott will have no idea what will happen to him in Dallas if they are unable to come to an agreement.
