The Francis Ngannou fight altered a veteran boxer’s assessment of a possible Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua bout.
In October of last year, “The Gypsy King” and “The Predator” squared off in Saudi Arabia. The boxing battle was the first in the former UFC champion’s career. That night last October, Ngannou performed the performance of his life despite being a huge underdog.
An unusual knockdown of Fury was achieved by the PFL heavyweight in the third round of the fight. The British fighter was obviously having trouble with the force coming back at him, even though he was able to crawl off the canvas. After going all ten rounds, Ngannou and Fury continued to trade blows.
In the end, boxer Tyson Fury defeated Francis Ngannou via split decision. With a victory over Oleksandr Usyk in May, he will probably take on Anthony Joshua. On March 8, ‘AJ’ will take on Ngannou in Saudi Arabia.
If the fight between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua happens, Froch will use “The Gypsy King” to win. Still, following Ngannou’s triumph last autumn, “The Cobra” is reconsidering that matchup. Froch said in a recent interview with TalkSport (via The Sun)
Many have speculated that the British boxer may retire before his fight with Oleksandr Usyk later this year. The rumors make sense because Fury has already retired twice.
But “The Gypsy King” wishes you to know he’s not going anywhere. Fury released a video on social media earlier this month. In the video, the lineal heavyweight champion said he wasn’t planning to retire anytime soon.
In addition, Fury intends to rematch Ngannou and Joshua. The British boxer revealed on Instagram:
“I’m not going anywhere; I have two fights left with Usyk, undisputed. Two times. After that, I plan to fight “AJ” once, possibly twice if we have a rematch. After being beaten up for the first time, if he desires one. Then, and this is just the beginning, I will battle Ngannou once more.
