Max Verstappen defends Father Jos in a dispute with Christian Horner: “He’s not a liar,” he said…
Max Verstappen has not yet addressed his father Jos Verstappen’s remarks made in public about Christian Horner, the team principal of Red Bull. Still, he stands up for his father’s honor in the face of the continuing dispute.
After hearing his father demand that Horner leave and hearing about his rumored meeting with Mercedes regarding a possible 2025 move for the three-time world champion, Verstappen finds himself in a precarious position. This happened soon after the team cleared Horner of the accusations made by a female Red Bull employee.
In a harsh criticism published in the Daily Mail, Jos Verstappen accused Horner of playing the victim and said that the negative attention that resulted from his investigation was damaging team cohesion.
The pair’s argument turned into a public spectacle when they were spotted having a heated argument at the Bahrain Grand Prix, and it carried over into the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix in Jeddah. When asked if he had verified if his father’s criticism of Horner was accurate, the 26-year-old said he had not looked into it but attested to his father’s honesty.
Despite the abundance of rumors and false information on social media, Verstappen insisted that he is unfazed because of his understanding of his father’s character.
Verstappen is in a difficult situation because Horner helped him rise to prominence in Formula One. At the age of eighteen, Horner was instrumental in helping Verstappen advance from Toro Rosso, which resulted in 55 race victories and three consecutive championships.
Verstappen said he would stand by his father in the face of disagreements, even though there might be tension between them, and emphasized the need for peacemaking before things get worse.
He talked about how close he is to his father and how they talk to each other every day. Verstappen, though, would rather focus on raising his game and handling any team problems internally.
