Miami Open: Elena RYBAKINA ”It’s A Record-breaking tournament for me.”
Despite falling short of winning the title at the Miami Open and admitting that she wasn’t at her peak performance throughout her campaign in Florida, Elena Rybakina continued to showcase remarkable form, hinting at future success.
Rybakina set a new record last year by hitting 199 winners in a WTA 1000 tournament, and this year, she surpassed her own record by just one notch. Despite losing 7-6, 6-3 to Danielle Collins in the final, Rybakina managed to accumulate a total of 200 winners, beating her previous record set when she lost to Petra Kvitova at the same stage in 2023.
Although some tennis fans reacted negatively, pointing out that she still lost the final and suggesting that she might also hold the record for the most unforced errors, Rybakina sees this achievement as a significant milestone. She remains pleased with her performance at the Miami Open, given the circumstances.
With the clay court season approaching, Rybakina looks ahead to her next tournament in Stuttgart in a few weeks, eager to build on her success.
