How To Use VOIP In Gray Zone Warfare
Like in most games, to turn on the microphone, you need to press the corresponding button, and in Gray Zone Warfare, it’s the Z key. By pressing the Z key, your voice chat will be enabled until you release it. Currently, the game only has push-to-talk voice chat mode, and it is unknown whether there will be other modes, such as voice detection. When you press the Z button, you should see a green microphone icon on the left side of the screen, which means that everything is working properly, and other players can hear you.
How To Change Voice Chat Button
If you want to change the voice chat button to another one, unfortunately, you won’t be able to do so. Currently, the game does not have a keybinding for this option, but it may appear in the future. If the voice chat doesn’t work when you press the ‘Z’ key, this means that this option may be disabled, but it’s quite easy to fix.

How To Enable & Disable VOIP In Gray Zone Warfare
The voice chat option should be enabled by default, but if it’s not, here’s how you can change it:
- Open your inventory by pressing the Tab button.
- Pay attention to the upper right corner of the menu. Here, you need to find and interact with the game’s Settings, which is represented by the gear icon.
- After opening the menu, pay attention to the Audio section. Within, you will find VOIP settings.
There are two VOIP options in the settings menu:
- Squad VOIP – A must-have feature that is required to communicate with your squad. By enabling it, only your teammates will hear you.
- Proximity VOIP – An optional feature that you can turn on to communicate with enemies. You will be able to talk with enemies with a certain area around you.
It is recommended that you enable both options, as proximity VOIP can be useful if you want to catch bits of enemy chatter — or actually work with another team to take out a larger group.
