NFL Draft: Jalen Milroe is believed to be first QB to be taken, says Alabama

This year’s NFL Draft witnessed the selection of the highest number of quarterbacks since 1983, with five quarterbacks chosen overall. The University of Alabama contributed significantly to the draft, with 10 athletes from the university being selected, including three in the first round.
Bryce Young, a former standout from the Crimson Tide, emerged as the first quarterback chosen and the top overall pick in the 2023 draft. His former teammate at Alabama, Jalen Milroe, now has the opportunity to elevate his draft stock with a highly productive season in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, this fall.
Standing at 6 feet 2 inches and weighing 220 pounds, Milroe showcased his prowess by accumulating nearly 3,000 passing yards (2,834) and tallying 35 touchdowns, contributing to Alabama’s Southeastern Conference Championship and College Football Playoff berth. Milroe is determined to lead the program to a national championship, and his former teammate, Ga’Quincy “Kool-Aid” McKinstry, a cornerback, expressed his confidence in Milroe’s abilities.
McKinstry, appearing on “RG3 and the Ones,” predicted that Milroe would be the first quarterback selected in the NFL Draft next year, emphasizing his belief in Milroe’s potential.
“I think he is definitely going to go out there and go crazy,” McKinstry stated. “Heisman. … I am telling you, I believe in him so much. I had been telling him since we were freshmen that I believed in him enough. He is a very special guy, and I am excited to see him go out there and ball this year.”
Despite McKinstry falling to the second round in the draft, Milroe draws inspiration from McKinstry’s journey and is motivated to become the first quarterback chosen in the next year’s draft.
