Oakland is considering a temporary transfer to the SF Giants Triple-A site.
After the 2024 season, the MLB is considering temporary sites, although the Oakland A’s aim is to relocate to Las Vegas for the 2028 campaign. Up until their relocation to Las Vegas, the A’s are considering hosting their Triple-A affiliate, the Sacramento River Cats, of the San Francisco Giants.

Is their next move to Las Vegas? They’re not going to migrate to Las Vegas? That appears to be the lingering query. It resembles Rachel and Ross from Friends. By the end of it, they just seem to be together.
At this moment, nothing is truly certain. There’s even talk that the 2024 season might be the last one the A’s play in Oakland. Deadlines usually spur action, as Oakland’s lease at the Coliseum ends after the 2024 season.
According to Chris Biderman of The Sacramento Bee, they might stay in Oakland, but considering how tense the A’s relationship with the city of Oakland has been, it seems unlikely. In recent years, Oakland has started to make more of an appearance in Las Vegas. In 2019, they acquired the Las Vegas Aviators as their Triple-A team.
In any case, it appears like Sacramento Mayor Martha Guerrero is open to the concept of the A’s, something that her supporters are keen to discuss. Maybe starting in 2025, the River Cats and A’s could play three seasons together at Sutter Health Park in Sacramento. We haven’t quite worked out that particular detail yet.
But Salt Lake City, home of the Los Angeles Angels Triple-A squad, is another site that is being considered. Right now, Sacramento continues to be the most promising location, with Salt Lake City following closely behind. People with strong links to the community will continue to advocate for them to stay in Oakland, even though it may not be a feasible option.
