After selecting Tyler Guyton, the Dallas Cowboys might lineup his offensive line in the following ways:. There is a new offensive tackle for the Dallas Cowboys. I’m calling him Tyler Guyton.
Dallas made it very clear that they planned to target an offensive lineman in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft, and they still did so with Guyton despite having traded back from their original selection (gaining a third-round pick in the process).
Although Guyton is still a bit of a raw tackle prospect, the offensive line is one area where the Cowboys have earned the right to be cautious. This is the arena they play in.
Now that Guyton has joined the team, we need to assess what the future may hold. He might be part in the following three offensive line combinations:.
Tyler Guyton aligns himself at left tackle in scenario one.
The Cowboys would be best served by starting Tyler Guyton at left tackle going forward. That would be the most fortunate thing that could happen.
As a first-round rookie two years ago, Tyler Smith filled the left tackle position, so Dallas doing this would not be unprecedented. Should they follow this course, they would resemble:
LT: Guyton Tyler
Tyler Smith, LG
C: Hoffman Brock
RG: Martin Zack
RT: Terence Steele
Considering the players the Cowboys currently have on their roster, this is the best offensive line that could exist. With Tyler Biadasz already abroad, Brock Hoffman is expected to start at center, unless the Cowboys select a worthy opponent in the next few rounds to contend for the position. Guyton can easily slide in and take control of the left side of the field.
Playing a rookie at left tackle is definitely risky, especially in a year this important, but the Cowboys have proven they are not scared of challenges of this nature by doing it twice in the past two years.

Tyler Guyton aligns himself at right tackle in scenario two.
Guyton was mostly a right tackle at Oklahoma. Many draft analysts think he feels more at ease on the right.
Guyton could always go that route, as history has also shown the Cowboys are willing to play their left tackle of the future on the right side (shout out to the previously mentioned Tyron Smith); however, since Terence Steele is already on the team, this would require demoting him or moving him to the left.
LT: Matt Waletzko or Terence Steele
Tyler Smith, LG
C: Hoffman Brock
RG: Martin Zack
RT: Guyton Tyler
It’s obvious that this left tackle position is highly dubious. Either Matt Waletzko, who has no actual track record, would be trusted, or Terence Steele would be asked to switch to the opposite side of the line. Although it sounds a little crazy, we are now considering every possibility.
Scenario 3: Terence Steele is still the starting quarterback, but Tyler Guyton lines up at right tackle.
The Cowboys might choose to start Guyton at right tackle but take a somewhat different strategy to the rest of their line in order to have any and every talk.
As you may remember, Terence Steele was considered by Jerry Jones to play left guard during the previous summer. Consider that scenario.
LT: Smith Tyler
LG: Terence Steele
C: Hoffman Brock
RG: Martin Zack
RT: Guyton Tyler
Once more, in this situation, the Cowboys could afford to lose Guyton at right tackle, where he is “comfortable.” Both Terence Steele and Tyler Smith would be moved to places they did not play a lot last season in an attempt to perhaps move Smith back inside if Guyton is the starting left tackle at that particular moment.
Overall, it appears that Scenario 1 makes the most sense. That’s hopefully where the Cowboys end up.
