Patrick Mahomes unveils new type of pass that could have NFL defenses worrying even more than usual
There is nothing more for Patrick Mahomes to prove to anyone. While he may not be as successful as Tom Brady in terms of Super Bowl rings, the 28-year-old has already left a lasting legacy that few players in NFL history can match.
He has worked really hard to reach the top of the football game, but more than anything, his extraordinary physical talent combined with his improvisational abilities has allowed him to succeed. That’s what renders him so lethal when he steps outside the pocket. He’s now demonstrating that he has one more trick under his sleeve.
Recently, Mahomes scrambled and appeared to be going over the line of scrimmage during a Kansas City Chiefs practice. Rather, he passed the ball to rookie running back Carson Steele behind his back without looking. Steele finished the play with a stunning one-handed catch.
Although this wasn’t in a real game situation against a real defense, Mahomes has previously been known to throw left-handed in a real game. He will undoubtedly attempt something similar in the future season.
