Player dismissed by Patriots head coach Jerod Mayo for attempting to
If there isn’t a postseason this year, how does making the playoffs eighteen times in twenty-four seasons sound to you? is being the NFL team with the greatest level of success since 2000? I presume it you would take that in a minute?
Greetings, New England Patriots supporter! Ever since Bill Belichick took over as the Patriots’ head coach in 2000, that is just what you have received.
It’s up to you, though, to process what you’ve seen lately and use that information to formulate the following conclusion: “My Patriots need a head coach change badly!” When there’s a big turnover at the quarterback position (or in leadership), the question to ask yourself is: Is the person filling your role better?
Perhaps 2023 has been difficult for New England, but is Bill Belichick the issue?
Perhaps you’d want Josh McDaniels to become the head coach? Alright, that was a joke. Nobody desires that. Here are the advantages and disadvantages of Belichick’s possible replacement in 2024.
First point of support: Bill Belichick controls too much in New England
Belichick must go entirely if real reform is to be achieved. Keeping him in his role as general manager implies that he remains heavily involved in roster decisions, which seems to be the root of most of New England’s issues. We know Belichick is a capable coach. Even though he had Tom Brady at quarterback for many years, which helped him appear good offensively, Belichick was the only coach in history to consistently come up with fresh defensive strategies for almost every game.
Even though Tom Brady left the team before the 2020 campaign, the squad has undoubtedly deteriorated, and even with rookie quarterback Mac Jones, the team managed to make the playoffs in 2021. But it wasn’t because of Jones that the Patriots were winning football games. It was Bill Belichick. Despite the fact that the team has the funds to spend on free agents, Belichick has not always performed well in NFL drafts.
Will Belichick allow the new head coach to oversee the team’s on-field operations even if New England brings in a new one? Or will Belichick be in charge and the new coach will only be a coach in name?
If I tried to question Belichick directly, all I would receive in return is a complaint.
