Eagles Launch an Early Attack on Defense in the Seven-Round Post-Combine Mock Draft.
The Philadelphia Eagles made a significant statement lately when it was confirmed that Jason Kelce would retire. Even though it was anticipated, the fact that one of the franchise leaders will be leaving made this an emotional occasion.
Cam Jurgens, an internal replacement for Philadelphia, spares them from having to target the position in the draft. That’s fortunate because there are numerous more requirements.
We have endeavored to address those requirements in this post-combine seven-round mock draft.
Round 1, Pick 22: Alabama’s Kool-Aid McKinstry, CB
The Eagles defense had a forgettable season in 2023. They had trouble in a number of areas; pass defense was not the worst.
They gave up 35 touchdowns and 4,296 yards via the air for the whole season. In the NFL, each of those was ranked second to last. Even worse, they only have nine interceptions, ranking 25th.
Sean Desai was removed from his responsibilities as the defensive coordinator for a number of reasons, including this one. Vic Fangio’s entrance can result in a better plan, but it also requires more skill. This is the reason Kool-Aid McKinstry of Alabama is ranked No. 22.
McKinstry isn’t the tallest defensive back at five feet, eleven and a half inches and 199 pounds, but he’s always ready. He researches his rivals and enters every match with a strategy that didn’t seem to be there the previous year. This might provide the Eagles with a formidable combination when paired with Darius Slay, and McKinstry might soon emerge as the team’s top defensive back.
