Report: NFL scouts respond bluntly to speculation about Tom Brady’s comeback…
Tom Brady accomplished a lot when playing in the NFL, so it makes sense that teams in need of a quarterback would be eager to help a prospective comeback.
However, based on at least one report, that enthusiasm might not exist.
Jeremy Fowler of ESPN discussed Brady’s recent remark that he would be amenable to an NFL comeback during an interview on “Get Up!” Fowler reports that the prospect has not gained much support in NFL circles, with several scouts claiming that Brady appeared unmotivated even in his last season.
“In NFL circles, this has received very little attention,” Fowler remarked. “Several scouts I’ve spoken with have commented that two years ago, he didn’t seem all that motivated. I am aware that he had some impressive stats, but he appeared to be in good shape and showed no signs of wanting to be hit in the pocket. Now that two years have passed, is he prepared to don a suit?
Brady said those things on a podcast while laughing. It’s likely that he wasn’t totally sincere when he made them, and there’s no reason to think he’ll be trying to return anytime soon.
After all, he plans to pursue a career in broadcasting and has certain ownership goals, however, they have encountered some obstacles.
Even if Brady was sincere about making a run in the playoffs, the league seems uninterested in the idea. The quarterback has most likely played his final snap at this time.
