According to several sources, Tiger Woods practiced this past weekend at Augusta National Golf Club in advance of the Masters Tournament, which is scheduled for April 11–14.
Woods, who officially joined the Masters tournament to pursue his sixth championship, played in Augusta, Georgia, on Saturday alongside his close buddy Justin Thomas and ANGC chairman Fred Ridley.
The 48-year-old Woods last prevailed in the first major of the year in 2019.
After suffering severe injuries to his right leg and requiring numerous operations, Woods’ participation in tournaments has been restricted due to a car accident that occurred in February of 2021.
Since winning the Masters in 2020, Woods has tied for 38th in the competition, missed 2021, finished 47th in 2022, and withdrew from the competition last year due to plantar fasciitis after missing the 36-hole cut.
Only once this season, on February 15–18 in Pacific Palisades, California, did Woods participate in the Genesis Invitational before withdrawing with the flu after six holes of the second round.
The 15-time major winner Woods expressed his intention to play one tour tournament a month in the future.
Woods would surpass the Masters record held by Gary Player and Fred Couples if he were to make his 24th straight cut. Only once, during his second career start in 1996, did Woods miss the cut.
