Anthony Pierce is the son of Antonio Pierce. Who is he? All the information you require about Raiders
After trade deadline In NFL news, following a 26-14 defeat to the Detroit Lions, the Las Vegas Raiders sacked general manager Dave Ziegler and coach Josh McDaniels.
Mark Davis, the owner, released a statement:
“I have made the decision to split ways with Josh and Dave after giving it careful thought as to what the Raiders require going forward. I want to express my gratitude for their efforts and send my best wishes to them and their families.
Antonio Pierce and Champ Kelly will replace McDaniels and Ziegler, respectively.
Since 2022, Pierce has served as the linebackers coach for the Raiders. He played linebacker for the Washington and New York Giants prior to that, most notably helping the Giants win Super Bowl XLII.
He is the father of seven children off the pitch. In 2013 and 2014, Anthony, one of his sons, was a cornerback at the University of Hawaii. Despite remaining on the team as a student assistant, he only managed seven tackles (five solo) in four games prior to retiring in 2015 due to medical concerns.
De’Andre, his other son, was a safety from 2016 to 2019 at Boise State, a recruiting assistant at Arizona State in 2020 and 2021, and then back to his original school.
Even though it’s unlikely that Antonio Pierce and Champ Kelly will live past the end of 2023, they still have a lot of cleaning to do in Paradise.
Wide receiver Davante Adams startled fans by having a tantrum on the sidelines, slamming down his helmet, and yelling after the Lions’ Monday night football loss. They have one more opportunity to get rid of him at the end of the season, either by a trade or a release, even though it’s obviously too late to do so now.
The quarterback’s position is another urgent problem. As a rumored upgrade, Jimmy Garoppolo was recruited from their previous crosstown opponents in San Francisco. He hasn’t performed any better than the much-maligned former franchise quarterback Derek Carr, though, as he has thrown nine interceptions compared to seven touchdowns.
Lastly, there’s the matter of what to do with Josh Jacobs, a running back who will be available for free in 2024. The 2022 rushing leader and two-time Pro Bowler had refused to sign the franchise tag throughout the winter and then accepted a $12 million compromise agreement.
