Adorable details about Anthony Joshua’s child, who is hardly ever pictured with Nicole Osbourne, his former relationship
Fans of two-time former unified world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua will be riveted to their televisions tonight at 9 p.m. on BBC Two for their tell-all with him and Louis Theroux. Not many people may realize that Anthony Joshua, 34, is also the father of a charming eight-year-old child, despite his notoriety as the second-best active heavyweight in the world as of October of last year, according to BoxRec.
2015 saw the birth of Joseph “JJ” Joshua, who was taught dance by Nicole Osbourne, who was also the boxer’s girlfriend at the time.
Before his fight with Jermaine Franklin earlier this year, Anthony talked to the media about his son’s affinity for his favorite sport. “He’s seven; he’s going to be eight this year, so he’s certainly aware,” the boxer said. “It’s unlikely that he cares! The issue is that, in my opinion, he lacks that level of curiosity. He obviously knows the sport; he occasionally boxes with his cousins.”
Surprisingly, he stressed that not all youngsters, including his own son, are suited for boxing. “I don’t think he’s mature enough to… Isn’t that fascinating? Every time I look out the window at camp, I see people going about their regular lives. Even if boxing is a big part of our lives, not everyone feels that way,” he explained.

When Anthony talked about how his son JJ will continue his legacy, it was clear that he wasn’t in the mood to push little JJ to play sports. “I think it’s crucial to find it yourself,” remarked Joshua. All I would say to them would be to be authentic and not attempt to outdo myself. Instead of comparing my boxing accomplishments to your own, you ought to sort of find your own motivations.”
The boxer made it clear that even if he helped his son get into the game, this would still be the situation. “I think my expertise would help him thrive, and I would be able to guide him,” Anthony said candidly. He would arrive early.”
In the nicest interview, Anthony talked about JJ being his own person in an exclusive interview with GQ. “I want my son to be the finest guy he can be; I don’t want him to be compared to me.”
During the same news conference, Anthony disclosed Little JJ’s characteristics, revealing how much he looked like his father. “He’s like me, though; when I lose, that’s how he is when he losesโwe’re terrible losers,” Anthony remarked. “To be honest, it’s good to see that side of him when he’s furious because it indicates that he cares.”
Anthony’s close bond with JJ
In a joint post with Hugo Boss, Anthony Joshua provided a lovely peek into his relationship with JJ. “It’s important to get a little cuddle; that’s really nice,” Anthony said as video of the pro boxer and his adorable son rolled. I want to become close to you. It’s also time for him to develop his voice and his individuality. In an effort to work with you and achieve greatness together, I’m trying to get to know you.”
He went on to tell how he would like to spend Father’s Day, sitting in front of the fireplace and watching his son run around. That, he said, “is the essence of life.”
Nicole Osbourne is JJ’s mother and a yoga and dance instructor. She is no longer with the boxing father of her son. It was the Watford schoolgirl who introduced Anthony to her.
Anthony delayed announcing the birth of his child to the public for six months and has maintained a secret relationship with Nicole. Despite their separation, the parents were living together in an apartment in Finchley, North London, when JJ was born.
