TRAUMATIC NEWS: Lamar Jackson has passed away.
Last Thursday, Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson inked a five-year, $260 million contract, making him the highest-paid player in NFL history.
After more than two years of planning, the negotiations between Jackson, who represents himself, and Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta took a difficult turn. In response to Jackson’s open request for a trade in March, Baltimore placed the quarterback on the non-exclusive franchise tag.
At the end, it was all just dust in the rearview mirror.
It’s said that the best things come to those who wait. At the Thursday news conference where the transaction was announced, DeCosta said, “We’ve been waiting for a while, and now we’re here.”
