The two-time Grand Slam champion had a very inconsistent year before the Monte Carlo tournament, winning only 65% of his matches and falling out of the top 10 for the first time since 2019.
The 25-year-old, nevertheless, got back on track this week, earning his third title at the Monte Carlo Masters while only dropping one set.
After all of his recent setbacks, Tsitsipas claimed that this is the most “special” of the three Monte Carlo victories for him. “It has been extremely difficult, but it feels amazing to be back on the podiums and winning competitions,” he remarked. I sincerely thank everyone who has supported me on this trip.
“The Trinity is even more remarkable than it was the first or second time around. This is a huge win in my opinion. The triumph today was nerve-racking to pull off. This trio had been my dream come true. Right now, I’m incredibly happy.
Tsitsipas added, “I assured every member of [my squad] that I would make the most of it, so I had to show off my tennis skills. I’m glad I played some excellent tennis and made a presentation on the court. I was able to include a range of shots, and my play flowed nicely from beginning to end.
