The Hawks are on the road again tomorrow night and hope to bounce back from a bad loss to the Indiana Pacers.
Ahead of tomorrow’s road game with the Orlando Magic, Atlanta released its injury report, and there is nothing new on it from an Atlanta perspective.
De’Andre Hunter (right knee inflammation), Mouhamed Gueye (right low back stress fracture), and Vit Krejci (left shoulder subluxation) are all out tomorrow.
Atlanta defeated the Magic in a thrilling game earlier this year, a game that took place in Mexico City. Atlanta will hope to erase the memory of Friday night’s blowout loss to the Pacers.
It was bad in every way last night for Atlanta.
The numbers from the first half are staggering, and not in a good way for the Hawks. Atlanta shot 38% from the field and 25% from three. Murray did have 17 points, but Young had only five on 2-12 shooting. He missed his first seven shots of the game.
Indiana shot 70.5% from the floor and 56.3% from three. Four Pacers were in double digits, and Indiana was scoring 1.47 points per possession and had an 81.3 true shooting percentage.
No, that is not a typo.
After the game, head coach Quin Snyder talked about the start of the game and if he wanted to attribute any of it to effort:
“I always hesitate to talk about lack of effort. We needed to run back harder, even early in the game, and that urgency is what you need against these guys in transition. That started early where… you don’t have a man, you just have to find someone when they are pushing the ball, and that happened to us both on misses where we had trouble converting early, but it happened to us on made field goals as well.”
Can Atlanta bounce back and get their third win in the last four games? We will see on Sunday night.
