Fred Hoiberg Named Chicago Bulls Head Coach
Fred Hoiberg has been named the next head coach of the Chicago Bulls after Tom Thibodeau was fired on May 28.
According to K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune, Hoiberg made the following remarks on the Bulls squad during a press conference announcing the news: “I adore this roster.” I adore how adaptable the guys are and how many various lineups we can use.”
Almost $25 million is the estimated value of the five-year contract, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports on June 1.
During his ten-year playing career, Hoiberg, a former guard in the NBA, played with the Bulls for four of those seasons. After joining Iowa State in 2010, he went 115-56 (.673) and qualified for the NCAA tournament four times in a row.
The coach, who is 42 years old, offers an unusual offensive strategy. His Cyclones teams took few mid-range shots and concentrated primarily on post play and outside shooting. They also performed at a fast tempo nearly all the time.
It’s a five-year deal “worth nearly $25 million”, reported Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports on June 1.
Hoiberg is a former NBA guard who spent four seasons with the Bulls during his 10-year playing career. He took the Iowa State job in 2010, and went 115-56 (.673) and made the NCAA tournament in four straight seasons.
