Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson has announced his departure  after his first absence during the 2024 season.

Lamar Jackson, the quarterback for the Ravens, was sick on Thursday, so Josh Johnson and Tyler Huntley filled in for him. Jackson hasn’t missed practice all season, despite not being on the injured list because of his absence. Wide receiver Rashod Bateman missed practice the day before due to a minor sickness, according to head coach John Harbaugh.

Jackson is a consistent player with good attendance; nevertheless, an illness forced him to skip practice in the last few weeks of the season. The cause is unknown, but the Ravens are hoping for a speedy recovery before their Week 14 matchup with the Rams.

With just a 2-2 record in the 2022 season, Tyler Huntley has experience filling in for Jackson. The Ravens, who are 9-3, will take on their rivals, the Rams, on Sunday in an attempt to contend for the top postseason spot in the AFC.
