Though he set a franchise record for wins during his tenure as head coach of Tampa Bay through 2008, the team only managed two more postseason campaigns.
Gruden rejoined the Raiders as head coach in 2018. He was the team’s leader until resigning during the 2021 season, following the public disclosure of several racist, misogynistic, and homophobic emails he had sent and sent between 2011 and 2018. Tampa Bay responded by taking Gruden out of the Buccaneers Ring of Honor.
