Aden Durde’s First Interview: What We Learned as Seahawks DC
One member of the new-look coaching staff of the Seattle Seahawks is Aden Durde, a defensive coordinator with some historical accomplishments.
Why OC Grubb of the Seattle Seahawks might be “extremely successful” after leaving Washington
Born and reared in England, Durde moves to Seattle following three years in Dallas and three years in Atlanta. He became the first full-time British-born coach in NFL history after joining the Falcons in 2018, and he is currently the first British-born coordinator in the league.
This week, Durde was formally presented as the Seahawks’ new defensive coordinator. He had his first in-person interview with Bump and Stacy of Seattle Sports on Thursday.
“I Durde responded, “I suppose you should have some sense of pride when you do something,” when asked if he was pleased with his achievements to date. “.. There’s always been a grudge I have. I am aware that mistakes are inevitable. I have a growth attitude, I’m trying to learn, and I have to put in some effort. And I believe that the players will also lack fear if I do. People see and feel that you’re not scared to put yourself in uncomfortable situations, and I believe that’s how you can positively affect them. I’ve kind of been doing that since I started playing football.
According to Durde, there are various kinds of players. He enjoys coaching people who have “a desire for information,” beginning with them.
“I get excited when a guy pushes you to think about topics you might not have,” he remarked.
Durde said to Bump and Stacy that he has experienced players pushing him to truly “think beyond the box” throughout the previous few years.
One more quality Durde adores? Guys on the field who are “just dogs.”
“I’ve coached a few guys, and you just know that you want them in the game when it’s all over. I find such athletes to be incredibly exciting,” he remarked.
In the end, Durde gives careful consideration to how to foster a positive atmosphere for the athletes he mentors.
“During my work, I Always consider how I’m fostering the atmosphere in which we enjoy being here. “We want to be here and then build it from there, but we know the purpose that we’re trying to do,” he remarked.

Although Durde has never been a head coach in Seattle, he has worked with coaches who have, most notably Dan Quinn, who was Dallas’ defensive coordinator for the last three years after serving as head coach in Atlanta.
Durde said to Bump and Stacy that for the past few years, he had heard nothing but positive things about the Seahawks organization.
“Guys who have coached here have worked with me. Everyone has nothing but praise for this organization, what it stands for, and how you
