    SAD NEWS: the mother of an Ohio State football player passed away…

    In the wake of the Chicago drive-by shooting, the mother of an Ohio State football player passed away.
    Griggs is the mother of Carnell Tate, a wide receiver for Ohio State who enrolled at the university in January 2023 after signing his National Letter of Intent in December 2022.

    In 2022, Tate was ranked No. 25 among all players in the country, regardless of his senior status.

    Regarding the passing, Ohio State’s Assistant Athletic Director Jerry Emig provided 19 News with the following statement:
