A 35-year-old wide receiver on the Steelers practice squad passed away. In the most recent horrific NFL News
Devon Wylie, a former wide receiver for the Pittsburgh Steelers, passed away suddenly at the age of 35. Wylie did not play in a black-and-gold game, if the name sounds unfamiliar. Rather, back in 2015, he was a member of the Steelers practice squad for a brief period of time. Wylie was selected by the Kansas City Chiefs in the fourth round of the 2012 NFL Draft, but his career in the league never really took off.
December 23, 2012, Kansas City, MO: During the game at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri, wide receiver Devon Wylie #19 of the Kansas City Chiefs carries the ball upfield while inside linebacker Moise Fokou #58 and cornerback Cassius Vaughn #32 of the Indianapolis Colts defend.
Only six receptions for 53 yards marked the end of his career, all of which occurred during his Chiefs rookie campaign in 2012. The Fresno State product gained notoriety as an NFL return specialist after totaling seven punt returns and fourteen kick returns. His terrible death’s specifics are currently unknown because they haven’t been made public yet. Following his untimely passing, the Fresno State football team expressed their condolences to his family.
