Unable to play well against the Kings, the injured Nuggets stumble to the All-Star break.
The reigning NBA champs are currently facing some challenges. The Denver Nuggets are starting to feel a little worn out from injuries with just 24 games remaining in the regular season. They have also dropped their last three games and are hobbling into the All-Star break.
The most recent setback was on Wednesday against the Sacramento Kings. By the end of the first quarter, the Nuggets had taken a 27-16 advantage. They even led by 16 points at one point. Regretfully, the Kings stormed back after that scorching start to cool off. With thirty points, De’Aaron Fox led the Kings in scoring and was a major contributor to the Sacramento comeback. Harrison Barnes and Domantas Sabonis both finished with 20 points.
With 25 points and 15 rebounds against the Kings, Aaron Gordon was playing bully-ball. Nevertheless, Gordon’s efforts were in vain because the Nuggets were severely lacking in Jamal Murray and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope. Caldwell-Pope and Murray both missed the game due to injuries.
Nikola Jokic, the top player for the Nuggets, finished the evening with 15 points, 8 assists, and 5 rebounds.
