Mykal Walker, an inside linebacker for the Pittsburgh Steelers, was called for needless roughness in Week 15 against the Indianapolis Colts.
As a result, the NFL has fined Walker again this season. Walker’s horsecollar penalty on Colts running back Zach Moss in the second quarter resulted in a $5,611 punishment.
It’s the season’s first fine for him. The NFL dealt a blow to the Steelers defense following Indianapolis.
Walker was fined, but in addition, the league suspended Damontae Kazee, a safety, for the balance of the regular season following his ejection for an unwarranted roughness hit on wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. After Kazee filed an appeal, the punishment was lowered to only the final three regular-season games from its initial scope of the regular season and playoffs.
The NFL has fined the Steelers about $400,000 this season, with running back Jaylen Warren bearing the brunt of the penalties after two $48,556 fines.
