Tom Brady asks: Should the Tampa Bay Buccaneers trade Baker Mayfield?
Bush Hamdan, a former Boise State assistant, was hired by Kentucky to serve as the team’s offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach when Liam Coen left to join the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the NFL.
The 38-year-old Hamdan has coached for 15 years and has held positions at Florida and Missouri in the Southeastern Conference. He played in the NFL with the Atlanta Falcons during the 2017 season as well. In addition to coaching at Washington, Maryland, Colorado, Davidson, and Arkansas State, Hamdan spent the previous season at his alma mater.
Having watched Hamdan’s career, Kentucky coach Mark Stoops expressed his admiration for the work he did under Steve Sarkisian and Eli Drinkwitz. In a release on Wednesday, he referred to him as a “rising star” and expressed his excitement about bringing him to Lexington. On Thursday, he will be introduced.
“It’s an exciting moment to be at Kentucky and be back in the SEC,” Hamdan responded, expressing his admiration for Stoops and the way he has constructed the Wildcats. I am eager to get going.
In terms of total offense (436.1 yards) and scoring offense (32.1 points per game), Boise State was second in the Mountain West Conference in the previous campaign. The Broncos played in the L.A. Bowl after defeating UNLV in the championship game and tying for the regular-season title.
