Other players that pose a threat on clay courts include Stefanos Tsitsipas, the two-time Monte-Carlo champion, and Casper Ruud.
Residents of Monaco Holger Rune and Grigor Dimitrov are among the players seeded, while American Taylor Fritz impressed on his most recent visit (semifinalist). Using a protected ranking, former US Open winner Marin Cilic participates in his first tournament following an injury, alongside Rafael Nadal.
