Playoff Implications Are Critical for Mavs vs. Suns

The Dallas Mavericks have a six-game winning run going into their game against the Phoenix Suns on Thursday, but their 32-23 record places them sixth in the Western Conference. The game might decide who briefly stays in the top six and the season tiebreaker with a meeting against the 33-22 Suns.

Kidd stated, “We’re feeling extremely good about what we’re doing on both sides of the ball.” We’re growing stronger and more profound. We are spared having to play our guys for forty-three minutes. It’s all about winning now. We are attempting to construct the W column at this time, regardless of who scores.

When these two teams last played on January 24, the Suns won 132-109 in Dallas, even though the Mavs had a 16-point lead at one point. Luka Doncic scored a career-high 50 points and dished out 15 assists to lead Dallas to a 128-114 victory over Phoenix on Christmas Day. But, among other things, Kyrie Irving’s injury kept him out of both games.

Bradley Beal’s availability to play on Thursday is still uncertain because of discomfort in his left hamstring. Dante Exum will play without the Mavs while he recovers from bursitis in his right knee. Both sides will have a roster that is largely healthy aside from those injuries.Since then, both clubs have added more players: P.J. Washington and Daniel Gafford were acquired by Dallas, and Royce O’Neale and Thaddeus Young were acquired by Phoenix.

Beyond the wins and losses, the Mavs have performed admirably in their recent games, even though they have faced a number of teams that have either struggled with key player injuries or have been unimpressive opponents overall. Given that they are still outside of the Western Conference’s top six, where they are guaranteed a play-in seed, the squad is focused on avoiding getting carried away by their success.

Mavs wing Tim Hardaway Jr. stated following practice on Wednesday, “We got to treat it as if we’re not in the playoffs right now.” “With the current standings, we are only in the play-in. Therefore, we must return to the top six. And tomorrow is when it begins.

Although the Mavs’ opponents of late have not been very good, they will have many opportunities to test themselves against successful teams after the NBA All-Star break. After the opening game versus the Suns, there will be a four-game road trip in the Eastern Conference, including games against the Boston Celtics, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Indiana Pacers. Following that? Dallas will host three games, with its two home games versus the Miami Heat and the Pacers being the highlights. Prior to gazing forward, let’s concentrate on Phoenix.

Phoenix is a team we’re pursuing right out of the gate, according to Kidd. After that, you and Rick (Carlisle) travel to Indiana, where they score 200 points every night. After that, you travel to Cleveland. They have 18 wins out of 20. and afterwards to Toronto to attend a birthday celebration. Luka’s 25th birthday falls on February 28, the day the Mavericks face Toronto. It is a national holiday. The month of March then officially starts in Boston. Thus, it’s not simple.
