Wide receiver George Pickens of the Pittsburgh Steelers crushed the visiting Cincinnati Bengals 34-11 on Saturday night, hauling in four passes for 195 yards and two touchdowns.
After playing poorly lately, the Steelers needed this win to maintain their prospects of making the playoffs. NFL fans couldn’t help but notice that Pickens, a teenage wide receiver wearing two mouthguards, was scorching the rival Bengals when all the attention was on him.
Pickens wore one red mouthguard and one green mouthpiece to get into the holiday spirit.
The Steelers improved to 8–7 on the year and are still very much in the running for the AFC playoffs. Manny Pickett, the starting quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers, is expected to return against the Seattle Seahawks the following week. However, if he is still sidelined due to an ankle injury, supporters will be happy to see Mason Rudolph play another game similar to Saturday’s.
With no interceptions, 17 of his 27 passes for 290 yards, and two touchdowns, Rudolph had one of his best games as a professional.
The Steelers, who finish Week 16 in considerably better shape than when they started, have to win their match at Seattle on Sunday.
