Another Ohio State football tight end announces plan to transfer
Columbus, Ohio The transfer portal will result in the loss of another tight end-to-end source for Ohio State football.
Sam Hart said on Tuesday that he will be leaving as a graduate transfer in the spring. Hart stated that he was making an early announcement for the window that opens following spring practices, even though the winter transfer portal closed on January 2.
This past season, Hart did not participate in any games and concluded his career without any receptions. In 2022, he participated in five games.

Hart still has two years left to be eligible. Out of Cherokee Trail High School in Aurora, Colorado, he was a four-star and top-400 recruit in the 2021 class when he enrolled at OSU.
Since the conclusion of the season, Hart is the second tight end from OSU to pursue a transfer. Joe Royer transferred to Cincinnati. Additionally, after five years, the position group lost two-year starter Cade Stover, who went on to the NFL.
Additionally, Will Kacmarek, a former Ohio tight end, transferred to Ohio State. After serving as Stover’s primary backup, Gee Scott Jr. is back. Even as a true freshman, Jelani Thurman showed promise. Bennett Christian, who was absent from the previous season after testing positive for a prohibited substance, is also expected to make a comeback.
Demarion Witten and Max LeBlanc, two tight ends joining the incoming freshmen class, also signed last month.
