Conor McGregor was one of the first to offer his sympathies following the devastating news that MMA star Francis Ngannou had lost his infant son.
Conor McGregor has expressed his condolences to boxer and MMA star Francis Ngannou following the passing of his 15-month-old son.
Following the devastating news of the 37-year-old’s infant’s death from Cameroon, tributes to the former UFC heavyweight champion came in. Ngannou hinted that the terrible news was real in an emotional social media post that she made earlier on Monday.
“What’s the purpose of life if what we’re fighting tooth and nail to get away from is what finally hit us the hardest!?” The French-Cameronian fighter stated. “Why is life so cruel and unfair? Why does life always seem to take away what we lack? I’m so damn exhausted.
Among the first to react to the mixed martial artist currently competing under the PFL umbrella was McGregor. Following his passing, the Irishman sent Ngannou his sympathies. “I am so sorry to hear of your loss Francis, my prayers are with you and your family at this time,” the father-of-four Irish children remarked.
“May this serve as a reminder of the frailty of life, and please remember Francis and his family in your prayers. Keep telling yourself, “I love you,” as tomorrow isn’t certain.
As many people in the mixed martial arts community expressed their sorrow, boxing promoter Frank Warren also sent his condolences. “My sympathies and condolences are with the family of @francis_ngannou. Very awful news, “Warren said.
In a post, former UFC champion Cris Cyborg prayed to the Lord to console Francis and his family. As he mourns this loss, envelop him in your affection and make sure your leadership protects him.
“Give him the courage to realize that life is short and that heaven is forever, and that they will soon be together.” It’s in your name that I beg. Amen.
Since then, Ngannou has shared a heartfelt farewell letter to his kid on Instagram. The text says: “He’s gone, yet it’s too soon to depart. Kobe, my little kid, my friend, and my companion, was a happy and vibrant person. He’s lying lifeless now. I kept calling out his name, but he didn’t answer.
“Beside him, I was the finest version of myself, and now I don’t know who I am. When it hurts the most, life is so unfair to us.
“How would you handle anything like that? What kind of lifestyle is that? If you have any suggestions, kindly share them with me as I truly don’t know how to handle this.”
