Earlier this morning, Devin Booker was confirmed…

Devin Booker was confirmed earlier this morning.
The new generation of players that have entered the NBA in recent seasons has impressed Kevin Durant.

The Phoenix Suns forward listed teammate Devin Booker, Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards, and Dallas Mavericks guard Luka Dončić as league icons who are advancing the game for younger generations at his news conference during NBA All-Star Weekend.

According to Durant, “there are a lot of guys that are encouraging the next generation of hoopers to play basketball.” It’s about improving the game and establishing new expectations for our performance. These people are currently engaged in it.”

Along with mentioning Tyrese Maxey, Tyrese Halliburton, and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Durant also acknowledged that he would unavoidably miss some other stars but that the younger players are having a significant impact on the NBA.

Steph Curry, the guard for the Golden State Warriors, echoed the compliments, stating that Dončić, Gilgeous-Alexander, and Edwards have the ability to lead the league once Durant and LeBron James depart.

Durant’s argument is supported by the standings, where young players are starting to play significant roles for teams like the Timberwolves and Oklahoma City Thunder, making them appear like real contenders.

Durant, 35, is still averaging 28.2 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 5.7 assists in 48 games, so the league hasn’t caught up to him. Phoenix has a 33-22 record under his and Booker’s leadership, good for fifth place in the Western Conference.
