What are the Steelers getting out of their new QBs?

Steelers’ Justin Fields will not learn crucial lessons from Russell Wilson, says ex-49ers QB.

The previous season wasn’t the Pittsburgh Steelers’ best campaign. There was no one who could keep the offensive going all the time, therefore, they faced a dilemma over who got to be their signal caller. In the end, this team was still able to play in the NFL the next season, just like Mason Rudolph. Russell Wilson or Justin Fields could now choose to play in the backseat prior to being fielded. JT O’Sullivan, a former 49er, asserts, however, that the former quarterback of the Denver Broncos left no lessons behind.JT O’Sullivan was quick to note that the Steelers’ issue is still far from resolved. Rather, the former 49ers signal-caller encountered some problems with Russell Wilson’s command of specific game characteristics. In his most recent statement, he expressed his dissatisfaction with the veteran’s ability to instruct via The QB School Live.

“I’m rooting for him,” Is he able to change his style of play quickly enough? must possess the ability to pass the ball with a certain amount of expectation? Will he now take a cue from Russell? Not in my opinion. The former 49ers player stated, “I don’t think Russell Wilson plays with a lot of anticipation.”

There will undoubtedly be competition between Russell Wilson and Justin Fields for the starting quarterback spot with the Steelers. But given his age and contract, it appears that the seasoned quarterback may get the job. The issue with this is that it’s not apparent how the former signal caller for the Chicago Bears might go back into the starting lineup.

Hopefully, the Steelers can solve the issue that JT O’Sullivan brought up. This will save them from constantly looking to the quarterback for solutions.

Few signal callers in the game can match Wilson’s level of experience and acumen. Having won a Super Bowl, he is aware of what it takes for the Steelers to regain that status. But in the end, his performance with the Broncos was rather worrisome. His deteriorating rapport with the coaching staff and front office was the cause of this. Still, he turns out respectable numbers. Wilson had 3,070 passing yards, 26 touchdowns, and just eight interceptions at the end of his time with the Broncos.

Conversely, Fields had difficulty throughout the entire season. In spite of this, his 2,562 throwing yards were a career-high number. Additionally, because it was the first time, he handled the ball well.

They all demonstrate that a signal caller can develop the ability to modify their playing style. The Steelers can also examine how their rushing and throwing have changed throughout the course of the season. If things go well in this inaugural season, there might not be a problem that has to be fixed in the Steelers’ system.
