Jackson Powers-Johnson, who impressed at the Senior Bowl, may be on the Bengals’ radar in the first round. This offseason,
The Bengals will fix the trenches. Over the next two months, offensive and defensive tackle will be discussed a lot, and with good reason. Jonah Williams and DJ Reader are scheduled to become unrestricted free agents, which suggests Cincinnati will probably add more linemen to its roster.
How about the offensive line in the interior?
Though it may not be discussed as much, at least one prospect has formally entered the Bengals’ and the NFL’s first-round discussions.
Jackson Powers-Johnson, a center from Oregon, dominated this week at the Senior Bowl. He is capable of playing both guard and center. At 6-3 and 334 pounds, he is a fantastic size.
As a rookie, Powers-Johnson might be a guard or center that can be used right away. It’s certain that the Bengals will select an offensive tackle this summer, but it doesn’t have to come in the first round.
The 21-year-old should definitely be taken with the No. 18 pick if the Bengals get a proven right tackle in free agency. Although Powers-Johnson is still early in the pre-draft process, fans should be aware of him because the NFL Combine is in less than a month.
