The Chicago Bears team is in the process of hiring a new head coach. Following the worst start to a season in the team’s 22-year history, the team fired head coach Brent Clarke.
The club has been outscored 30–7 and has lost all six of its games. Furthermore, the Ice Bears are 0-for-17 when it comes to using a power play.
Clarke had his second season on the team this year. His record at the end of his tenure was 32-28-3.
“We appreciate Brent and the effort he has dedicated to our company,” stated General Manager Mike Murray. “I spoke with Brent, and we have accepted his resignation. We hope for the best for him and his family in the future as we keep working to deliver the success that the SPHL’s greatest supporters have known and expected for over 20 years.
Following the team’s 5-2 loss against Fayetteville on Saturday, Murray announced his resignation on Sunday, stating that it was mutual. As the squad gets ready to go to Huntsville on Thursday, he stated that he plans to name a temporary head coach later this week.
Murray remarked, “We realize the hockey hasn’t been good enough thus far.” “Winning championships is and will always be our main objective. With 50 games remaining in the season, we intend to appoint the most qualified coach to help us achieve our objective.
