The Italian referees’ organization, AIA, verified that Di Bello will preside over Milan’s match against Fiorentina on Saturday.
Notably, he officiated the team’s previous match, which La Viola won by a score of two goals to one.
Throughout his tenure, Di Bello has overseen 16 Milan games: 10 victories, 2 draws, and 4 losses for the Rossoneri. Even though the record is good overall, a game played last season generated a lot of debate.
The match between Bologna and Milan ended in a 1-1 draw, with Tommaso Pobega scoring a spectacular goal to tie the score for the Rossoneri.
However, Milan should have been awarded two penalties after Rossoblu’s goal was disallowed for a foul.
Di Bello oversaw VAR during that game even though he wasn’t the on-field referee, and in such situations, he didn’t do his duties appropriately.
With Paolo Mazzoleni, the VAR referee, at his side this time, Milan will be looking for a stronger performance from him.
